GARENA MESSENGER AND BUDDY SYSTEM |

The built-in multifunction messenger and buddy system is one of Garena’s core features which enables gamers to keep in touch with their gaming buddies.
You will be able to directly chat with your Garena friends even if you are on different rooms, locate and trace the room where your friends are, invite friends instantly to join your room, receive alert of friends going online or when a friend joins in the same room, and many more. |
| Adding Buddies |

You can add a gamer into your buddy list in two easy ways:
1 - Using Garena’s Search User |

Click on the "ADD FRIEND" button located in the bottom right corner of Garena. |

You can either search by his account name or user ID number, choose one by clicking on the radio button corresponding to the choice. Type in the exact account name or user ID number (depending on what search option you selected) then click on "Search". |
|

|
The gamer’s profile will pop-up if the search is successful. Click on the "+" (Plus Sign) in the profile to add the gamer into your buddy list. |

Another way to add a user into your friend list, click on a gamer’s name in the Game Room list and his mini-profile will appear then click on the "+" (Plus Sign) in the profile to add the gamer into your buddy list. |

Right-click on a gamer’s name in the Garena Room List panel and click "Add to Buddy List".
NOTE: By default your maximum buddy list capacity is 50 plus your current Garena level (e.g. Level 28 account will have buddy capacity of 50 + 28 = 78). Be a gold member and get more buddy list capacity. |

Grouping your Buddies
Garena Buddy System allows you to sort your buddies into groups, making it easier and more organized to classify your gaming friends. Garena’s default buddy group is named "Friends", all new friends added into your list will be added in the default category. |

Creating a new Group
Right-click on an existing category/group (e.g. Friends) and click "Add Group".
After you selected "Add Group", a field for you to input the group name will appear at the bottom of your "My Buddies" list. Type in the preferred name for the group then press "Enter" to create.
NOTE: To add more groups, repeat the steps mentioned above. |

Editing Group Names
To edit the name of any existing group, right-click on the group name then click "Edit Group". Then type in the new name you want for the group
NOTE: You cannot edit the name for the default category "Friends". |

Deleting Groups
To delete a group you no longer want to use, right-click on the group name then click "Delete Group". You will be asked if you really want to delete the group, click "Yes" to confirm.
NOTE: All buddies under the deleted group will be moved back to the default group "Friends".

Moving Buddies into Groups
Right-click on a friend’s name in "My Buddies" then a list of buddy functions will appear. Move your mouse cursor over "Buddy Category" and choose the group you want the buddy to be in by clicking on the Group Name.
NOTE: You can move users in and out of any groups any time. Follow the steps mentioned above to move users to different groups. |

Uploading and Downloading your Buddy Groups
By default, your buddy groups are only stored in your local drive. Garena allows you to upload your group settings and download the saved group settings when you are logged in to a different computer.
To upload your buddy groups, right-click on any group’s name and click on "Upload". |

When you are playing on a different computer, you will need to download your saved groupings from the server to update your buddy list with your groups. Right-click on any group’s name and click on "Download". |

| Expanding or Minimizing Groups |
|

| |
Garena "My Buddies" list is customizable. It allows you to minimize certain groups for you to only see the list you wanted to view. |

| To expand or collapse a group list, simply click on the (+) or (-) button located just left of the Group name. |
|
Alternatively, you can right-click on the name of the group, then click on "Expand" or "Collapse". |

You can send instant message to buddies no matter what room they are in.
In the "My Buddies" tab, double click on the buddy’s name to open the 1:1 chat dialog box.

In the "My Buddies" tab, right-click on the buddy’s name and click "Send Instant Message".
Then the 1:1 chat dialog box will appear. |

1 - Buddy Functions
• "Invite" will send an invitation to the user to join the room where you are in.
• "Trace" will automatically bring you to the room where the user is.
• "Send File" allows you to send a file to the user (NOTE: only available for buddies).
• "Send PM" allows you to send a message via forum mail to the user.
2 - Message Panel
This is where you can view your conversation.
3 - Font and Emo-Icon
• "Font" allow you to change the format of the font including font style, size, color, effect and more.
• "Emo-Icon" will open the list of emotion icon you can use for your chat.
4 - Message Input Area
This is where you can type in the message you want to send to the recipient.
5 - Chat Log
Allows you to view your chat log history with the user (NOTE: Only available to buddies).
6 - Chat Window Option
• "Send" will deliver any text and emo-icon typed in the Message Input Area to the user.
• "Close" will end your current conversation with user and close the chat window.
7 - Recipients Avatar
Displays the avatar of the user you are currently chatting with.
8 - Your Avatar
This area displays your own avatar. |

| Blocking Users from Messaging You |

| |
You can block users you don’t want to receive message from or block a buddy from messaging you and seeing you online in their list. |

In "My Buddies" list, right-click on a buddy’s name and choose "Remove/Block User". |
| |
|
|
 |
|
A confirmation message box will appear with option to block user. Check on the radio button to block the user, leave it unchecked if you only wish to remove the user from your buddy list.
To unblock, simply go to the "Blocked Users" tab, look for the user in the list, right-click on the user’s icon then click on "Unblock". |

Go to "Settings" window, under "System Setting" tab check on the radio box corresponding to "Filter Stranger Message" then click on "OK".
To allow stranger message, simply uncheck the option and click on "OK".
